Our Activities

Our activities are varied and complement the changing seasons, using our woodland's natural resources; activities to choose from include -​

​​

  • Zip-wire & Cargo net

  • Giant tree swing (Harness and Helmet - over 8's only) 

  • Bushcraft: If you're looking for hands-on practical skills, we offer bushcraft activities. These can include options like Fire-lighting, Den Building, carrot whistles.​ 

  • Green Woodwork: Whittling, safe tool use, peashooters, cinder bowls & spoon carving.

  • Seasonal Crafting: If you enjoy crafting and getting creative, we have lots of seasonal crafting activities to choose from e.g. Cyanotype, Hapa zome leaf & flower prints, clay modelling, pyrography. Festive decorations include reindeer and willow stars.

  • Willow & Rattan weaving: Willow projects include Hearts, Stars, wands,  plant supports and Bird feeders.

  • Pewter*: Create casts inspired by nature or using Lego figures.

  • Forest Bathing/Therapy*: For a deep connection with nature, relaxation and rejuvenation, forest therapy is an excellent choice.

  • Outdoor Yoga*: If you're looking for gentle movement and holistic well-being, we have yoga sessions available that can be tailored to your preferences.

  • Angling*: Our qualified fishing coaches can take small groups to fish at our adjacent pond on site or at Magdale in Honley.

  • Pizza Making: You make, we bake - woodfired pizza making is a fun activity in itself.

  • Campfire Cooking: Build your fire, forage for ingredients, learn new cookery skills.

  • S'mores: Roast your marshmallow over our campfire until it becomes soft and squidgy then enjoy sandwiched between two chocolate biscuits - delish!​

As well as our in-house team of outdoor learning practitioners, we have regular  specialists* who can offer Angling, Yoga, Forest Therapy and Art sessions, if requested and depending on practitioner availability.

We are always coming up with new activities and are always open to new ideas as we love to be beneficiary led, so feel free to talk to us about your preferences.

* Some activities may have an additional charge, such as our Woodfired Pizza Oven (£50), angling (£90), forest therapy (£70), outdoor yoga (£50) and pewter casting (£30). This fee may vary based on group size and session length, particularly if additional practitioners are needed.
