Heading 5
"It is a place that gave me something to look forward to again, a place where I have met lifelong friends, gained a huge amount of support. There is simply nothing else like it."

Wellbeing in the woods
We work with many groups and individuals experiencing low self-esteem/anxiety/depression related conditions (identified through specific charities or Primary Healthcare Trusts), mental health/wellbeing & social adjustment needs.
Our aim is to improve self-esteem, self-confidence and resilience in participants, enabling them to develop perseverance and determination in unfamiliar areas. These skills are directly transferable to participants’ studies, workplaces & daily lives. We offer these services within our own woodland or also we can also come to you.

Nurtured by Nature: Compassion, Connection & Creativity in a woodland setting
Our new Nurtured by Nature program, launched in 2023 at our woodland site near Honley train station, has been designed to support the mental wellbeing in adults.
It's known that being in nature has many health benefits, less stress, reduced symptoms for depression and anxiety, and better cognition.
This self referral or green social prescription program is suitable for anxious, socially isolated individuals, looking to de-stress and make new connections. Delivered by qualified, outdoor learning practitioners and Forest Therapists and is fully catered.
It's with thanks to our partner Community Plus we can offer this Nurtured by Nature as a free, fully funded program.
We have funding to support you, within a group of 15 people to attend 8 weekly sessions.
Our next cohort starting end of May will be Thursday twilight sessions.
First session Thursday 30th May 2024, 16:00-21:00.
As the program develops, we are adjusting our start/end times, reflecting the changing sunset, as well as trailing different days, including weekends, as we find out what times/days work best with individuals, ensuring the widest reach within the community.
These Wellbeing sessions will be facilitated by two members of experienced staff along with other commissioned experts such as Forest Therapists, angling coaches and Yoga instructors to support and develop an varied program of optional activities.
There will be opportunities to:
Learn & experience new ‘things’ and gain new skills … from arts & crafts to Forest Therapy, angling, photography, yoga or ziplining.
Cook, eat and gather together
Enjoy the tranquillity of our woodland site, engaging with activities as much or as little as you would like.
This project will support people to engage with each other and our woodland … nurtured by nature.
There is absolutely no pressure to ‘arrive’ on time, stay the entire session or even ‘join’ in but we would love to invite you to our woods.
Please contact us for more details.
